Thai Buddhist Temple Wat Ananda

Sitting on a small hill in Bukit Merah, Wat Ananda is Singapore's oldest Thai Buddhist temple. Its Thai characteristics are unmistakable—the golden stupa perched on the roof, the many Thai motifs, and the gold trimmings on the roof in the distinctive Thai style. But as the temple has been in Singapore for more than 100 years, you'll also find elements that would not normally be found in a Buddhist temple in Thailand.
