In 1937, a previously unknown poet published a book-length poem, F.M.S.R., that was inspired by T. S. Eliot. The writer, Francis P. Ng, then mysteriously disappeared. This is the story of how Teo Poh Leng's real name was uncovered and the surprising way his tragic fate was confirmed, thanks to another literary work. This episode is based on two essays: "On the Trail of Francis P. Ng" (BiblioAsia, Jan-Mar 2015) and "Ties that Bind: The Story of Two Brother Poets" (BiblioAsia, Jan-Mar 2017).
