Part-time branch libraries served residents living in suburban Singapore before fulltime public libraries were built.

Part-time Branch Libraries

* Joo Chiat Library was opened on 9 August 1949 by the Social Welfare Department and the British Council. It came under the management of the Raffles Library in 1955. ** Chai Chee Part-time Branch Library relocated to Bedok Town Centre in 1981 and became Bedok Part-time Branch Library.
