From left to right: Asia Insurance Building, Ocean Building and The Arcade. This image photographed in 1960 gives a good idea of the comparatively huge scale of Ocean Building compared to its predecessors – the previous building on the site was identical to The Arcade, which was the second-tallest building on Collyer Quay prior to the completion of Ocean Building. Asia Insurance Building later became the tallest building in Singapore when it was completed in 1955. From the Kouo Shang-Wei Collection 郭尚慰收集. All rights reserved.
